The I’m Still Standing Sydney Last One Standing backyarder was held on Saturday, 15 March in Heffron Park, Maroubra, NSW along a 6.71km loop course on a mix of grass and path with minimal elevation.
The winner of the event who was the LOS was Mitch McInnes with 40 yards whilst the Assist was Jon Berry with 39 yards (Jon was the 2024 winner with 36 yards, and the 2025 edition saw a new course record in both male and female categories).
The last female standing was Chelsea Murphy with 27 yards (2024 record was 24 yards).

The Sri Chinmoy 48hr Track Festival was held over the weekend from Friday, 21 March at the AIS Athletics Track, and also doubled up as the 2025 Australian 24 Hour Track Championships.
With regards to the Australian 24 Hour Track Championships, a reminder that winners – podium positions in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions – do not need to be financial AUTRA members. They simply need to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd to be recognised as Championship winners by AUTRA, however they must be Australian citizens.
On offer at the event was a 48hr (24 finishers), 24hr (21 finishers), 12hr (20 finishers), 6hr (30 finishers) and Marathon (18 finishers).
Kicking off with the Women’s 24hr and Championships, the winners were Holly Ranson (263.548km), AUTRA’s Jenny White who finished with 2nd Female in a distance of 225.797km, and AUTRA’s Samantha Hornby who claimed 3rd with a distance of 165.172km. No international women landed on the podium, thus winners being for Overall Female as well as the Championships.
Holly set a new Australian Open 24hr record (and Australian W35 age group record) with her distance. It is the 3rd best all time performance by a woman in the world in the 24hr.
In the Men’s 24hr Championships, AUTRA’s Joe Ward took out the top spot for 1st Male and Championship winner with a distance of 246.56km. AUTRA member Barry Keem was next in line to claim podium position, taking 2nd Male with a distance of 236.715km. Third Male was awarded to Adam Meredith (204.269km).
In the Men’s 24hr (due to an international entrant), 1st and 2nd Male remained the same with Joe Ward and Barry Keem taking their respective spots, but 3rd Male was awarded to New Zealand’s John Bayne with 217.287km and a new pending record for NZ M60+ 6hr.
Congratulations to all our members who raced in the 24hr event, including Ben Foessel (202.136km), Joshua Luck (201.406km), Aaron Francey (187.301km), Jasmin Kientzel (132.705km) and Michael Griffin (126.899km).
Onto the Women’s 48hr, it was an AUTRA ladies podium completion, with all top spots going to members. Cheryl Symons secured the top spot with a total distance of 324.776km whilst Allicia Heron took 2nd Female after completing a total distance of 293.176km and Sabina Hamaty claiming 3rd Male with 275.957km (which is a new Open AUS Women’s 48hr Walk Record!).
In the Men’s 48hr event, AUTRA’s Phil Ryan took 1st Male with a great distance of 283.619km whilst Maryanto Sardjimin took 2nd Male with 276.029km. AUTRA’s David Billett claimed 3rd Male after finishing his event with a total of 257.12km.
A big congratulations to all our AUTRA members who ran in the 48hr, including Maia Nagy (254.792km & new W20 48hr AUS record), Greg Wilson (245.073km), Leah Weeden (217.727km), Joffrid Mackett (212.315km), Oliver Sheekey (200km & new AUS Male U20 50k, 50mi, 100km, 100mi, 200km, 6hr, 12hr, 24hr and 48hr), Zed Zlotnick (182.419km), Annabel Hepworth (162.356km), Thomas Willis (150.800km), Duc Do (139.473km), Jason Wheeler (125.200km) and Rod Rainey (114km).
In the Women’s 12hr, top spots went to Neredah Brogan (100.607km), Elizabeth Smith (75.631km) and Susan Sturgeon (56.58km).
In the Men’s 12hr, AUTRA’s very own Mark Avery secured 1st Male with his distance of 120.322km whilst AUTRA member Andrew Donaldson took out 2nd Male following a total distance of 120.013km. James Quaife took 3rd Male (117.974km).
Well done to our members who ran in the 12hr, including John McGann (81.169km), Paul Gay (80.647km), Glenn Lockwood (50km) and Amanda Callaghan (45.622km).
In the Women’s 6hr, podium spots went to Rosie Reynolds (51.392km), Kristine Halme (46.018km) and Hayley Daniel (44.649km).
In the Men’s 6hr, 1st Male was won by Mark Brookes (59.44km) and AUTRA’s Gregory Jenkins claimed 2nd Male with a total distance of 59.428km. Third Male went to Ashley Colquhoun (58.66km).
Congratulations to our members Sandeep Chandra (46.851km) and David Von Senden (34.835km) who completed their 6hr events.
In the Women’s Marathon, AUTRA member Lindsay Hamilton won 1st Female with her time of 3:38:28. Susan Marshall got 2nd Female (4:30:47) and AUTRA’s Beck Myors took 3rd Female following her finish of 5:27:07.
In the Men’s Marathon, Craig Benson took 1st Male with 2:59:32 and AUTRA’s very own Mitch Poulos claimed 2nd Male with a fantastic time of 3:15:54. Nick Levin took 3rd (3:35:42).

Noosa Ultra-Trail started on Thursday, 20 March for a weekend of running festivities at the Noosa District Sports Complex in Tewantin, Qld and offered a range of distances including 100km (74 finishers), 80km (47 finishers), 50km (359 finishers), 30km, 25km and 15km.
Starting with the Men’s 100km, 1st Male was awarded to Thomas Brimelow (9:37:25) whilst 2nd Male was claimed by AUTRA’s Blaine Bourke who completed the distance in 9:55:40 and 3rd was taken out by AUTRA member Kieran O’Brien who finished it in 10:34:18.
In the Women’s 100km, top spots went to Amanda Stanford (11:33:49), Eliza Brewer (12:38:25) and Robyn Koszta (12:59:49).
Congratulations to our members who ran in the 100km, including Chris Beazley (11:11:52), Ben Wilson (13:11:00) and Matthew Raguse (13:56:09).
In the Men’s 80km, top spots went to Kurtis Stirling (7:18:13 & and a new course record), Jordan Nukunuku (8:22:11) and Daniel Hannaford (9:23:05).
In the Women’s 80km, AUTRA’s Erin Robertson claimed 1st Female with a fantastic time of 9:11:10. Second and 3rd Female spots went to Tracey McDonald (9:49:43) and Carly Law (10:12:45) respectively.
Well done to our members for their 80km events, including Adam Taylor (12:11:58), Kate Worsfold (13:21:53) and Colin Mackey (14:31:13).
In the Women’s 50km, AUTRA’s Zoe Manning secured 1st Female with a great time of 4:04:06. Meredith Hill (4:34:18) and Valeria Detzel (4:45:43) took 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the Men’s 50km, top spots were awarded to Joshua Chugg (3:46:44), Eddie Keogh (3:58:27) and Grant Williams (4:01:15).
Congratulations to all members who raced in the 50km, including Noelis Rheault (4:39:06), Tia Bool (5:37:26), Glenn Ross (5:42:35), Benjamin McAlpine (6:02:31) and Christopher Beavon (6:37:05).
Podium spots in the Women’s 30km went to Monica Grayling (2:53:09), Amy Benjamin (2:53:59) and Gabriella Marsh ( 3:10:08) whilst top spots for the Men’s 30km were won by Richardt Schwalb (2:16:01), Paul Jackson (2:27:45) and Adam Hall 2:40:54).
Winners for the Women’s 25km were Riine Ringi (1:49:23), Alyse Edwards (1:57:45) and Kira Baker (2:02:23); winners for the Men’s 25km were Henry Hugman (1:41:45), Chris Waters (1:42:45) and Luke Oxlade (1:45:01).
Winners in the Women’s 15km were Siobhan Sefton (1:06:34), Indiana Voss (1:19:09) and Melanie McDonald (1:20:42), and winners in the Men’s 15km were named Adam Fitzakerley (1:00:05), Brendan Hill (1:02:30) and Jake Liaropoulos (1:08:04).

There were 427 starters last weekend at Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra in Herdsman Lake, WA which was held from Friday, 21 March. As an LOS event, there is only one winner, and for the 2025 edition that was Tim Moffatt with a total of 38 laps, or 254.98km.
The Assist was awarded to Darren Chandler (37 laps, or 248.27km) whilst 3rd Male went to AUTRA’s Simon Bennett who completed 34 laps or a total of 228.14km.
The last female standing (or 1st Female) was Tammy Lovett with 24 laps (161.04km).
Congratulations to all members who raced at Herdy’s, including Shane Aris (28 laps/187.88km), Rob Freitag (19 laps/127.49km), Kevin Matthews (19 laps/127.49km), Daniel Taborsky (18 laps/120.78km), Cliff Lang (14 laps/93.94km) and Steve Chilcott (12 laps/80.52km).
The Washpool World Heritage Trails event was held on Saturday, 22 March at Gibraltar Range National Park in NSW and offered a 50km (77 finishers), 25km (89 finishers) and 9km (51 finishers).
In the Men’s 50km, top spots were awarded to Benjamin Lambert (4:31:26), Nathan Hewitt (4:49:35) and Andrew Hill (5:06:18).
In the Women’s 50km, winners were named Amy Ryan (6:01:00), Trish Owen (6:08:46) and Eva Wilson (6:15:30).
Congratulations to our members Adam Lusk (5:23:17) and Bruce Hannah (7:27:11) who also finished the 50km.
Winners in the Men’s 25km were Kayden Elliott (1:43:03), Daniel Stein (1:49:29) and Mal Donnelly (2:00:04) while winners in the Women’s 25km were Belinda James (2:20:39), Laura Burke (2:29:28) and Leah Doman (2:31:56).
In the Men’s 9km, top spot went to Trent Irwin (37:17) whilst AUTRA’s very own Keelan Birch took 2nd Male with a time of 41:36). Third Male was awarded to Ben Smith (47:26).
In the Women’s 9km, the winner was Chaise Doran (48:43) and 2nd Female was won by AUTRA’s Annabelle Swainston who came through the finish in 49:00. Third Female went to Harriet Brickhill (57:44).
