Hosted by For Wild Places, the Pilliga Ultra was held from 13-15 September, 2024 in Coonabararan, NSW and offered 50km (42 finishers), 20km (64 finishers) and 10km (66 finishers) events.
Kicking off with results in the Men’s 50km, the podium finishers were named George Knight (4:57:23), Tom Batrouney (5:01:56) and Jim Wythes (5:02:56). In the Women’s 50km, winners were Elanor Finch (6:44:07), Jenny Friend (6:46:25) and Bec Cook (7:05:09).
Congratulations to AUTRA members Catherine Froome and Mathew Froome from Berrima, NSW who finished in 8:12:03 and 8:40:36 respectively.
In the Men’s 20km, top standings went to Nik Adamson (1:58:42), Dan Price (1:59:49) and Daniel Nash (2:07:20) while in the Women’s 20km, winners were Tia Bool (1:58:24), Erchana Murray-Bartlett (2:09:05) and Chloe Eadie (2:15:01).
In the Men’s 10km, podium spots were awarded to Eamonn Cunningham (48:10), Clive Van Capelle (48:36) and Simon Heppell (49:15); in the Women’s 10km, winners were Bec Cook (1:07:24), Katelyn Dooley (1:08:14) and Kathryn Larkin (1:08:36).
There was also a Grand Slam category, where runners who participated in all three distances could be in the running for top spots. In the Men’s Grand Slam, winners were Dan Price (8:30:54), Eamonn Cunningham (8:38:27) and Tom Payton (8:43:22). In the Women’s Grand Slam, spots were awarded to Bec Cook (10:53:24) and Nicole Hunter (15:09:23).

Lap the Valley, hosted by Milepost Events, was held on Saturday, 14 September 2024 in the Boyne Valley, Qld and was a 12hr LOS event, with each lap at 6.7km, where there were 83 starters and 22x 12 Lap finishers.
Congratulations to AUTRA member Michael Duggan from Upper Kedron, Qld who secured himself 4 laps at the event.

Hosted by North-Vic Backyard Ultras, the GV Last Man Standing was held on Saturday, 14 September in Shepparton, Vic and offered an LOS event until there was only one person left.
The winner of the GV Last Man Standing was Mathieu Dube who took the lead after completing 39 laps (262.08km) in 29:56:02. The Assist was AUTRA’s David Patterson from Hamlyn Heights, Vic who finished 38 laps at a total of 255.36km.
Congratulations to all our AUTRA members who raced at the GV Last Man Standing, including Jacob Garlick (30 laps/201.60km), Chris Dixon (22 laps/147.84km), Greg Plier (19 laps/127.68km), Jim Taylor (11 laps/73.92km), Rebecca Cowie (8 laps/53.76km), Oliver Maass (7 laps/47.04km) and Melissa Debnam-Smith (6 laps/40.32).

WTF Ultra 50 and 100 Miler was held from Friday, 20 September 2024 in south west WA and offered a 50km, 50mi and 100mi.
Starting with the 100mi, there were two finishers, AUTRA’s Sarah Niven from WA who took 1st Female with a time of 27:35, and AUTRA’s Matthew Salinovich from Donnybrook, WA who claimed 1st Male with 27:35.
In the Men’s 50mi, congratulations to AUTRA’s Mitchell Crook from Jandakot, WA who took 1st Male with a time of 9:07. Second and 3rd Male were won by Justin Hill (9:15) and Michael Snart (9:24) respectively.
In the Women’s 50mi, top spots went to Kate Rolllinson (11:33), Lorraine Barry (15:25) and 3rd Female went to AUTRA’s Del Thompson from Stoneville, WA who crossed the finish line in 17:25).
Well done to all our members who ran at WTF over the weekend, including Jagpawan Singh Dhillon (12:16), Andy Thompson (12:38), Matthew Lambert (17:07) and Bill Thompson (30:45).
In the Men’s 50km, 1st Male was awarded to Bryce Turvey (4:36), 2nd Male was Oakie Diggins (5:33), and 3rd Male was Thomas Challoux (5:35). In the Women’s 50km, top spots went to Bonnie Learmonth (6:27), Amelia Fox (6:57) and Kate Jenour (7:14).
Congratulations to all our members who raced in the 50km, including Glen Smetherham (6:39), Kate Ashfaq (8:18) and Harmony Waite (16:09).

The Surf Coast Century was held at the weekend, from Friday 21 September 2024 in Anglesea, Vic and also doubled up as the 2024 Australian Long Trail Championships with its 100km. There was also a 50km event.
With regards to the (100km) Long Course Championships, a reminder that winners – podium positions in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions – do not need to be financial AUTRA members. They simply need to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd to be recognised as Championship winners by AUTRA).
In the Men’s 100km, AUTRA’s very own Nigel Hill from Bullengarook, Vic took the title of 1st Male of the Surf Coast Century and the Championships, crossing the finish line in 8:49:53. Congratulations Nigel on an incredible performance! Second Male of the Surf Coast Century and the Championships was awarded to AUTRA’s Thomas Dade from Mount Martha, Vic who secured the title with a finish time of 9:05:34 – well done Tom, a stellar effort!
Third Male was secured by Ally Willcox (9:09:35).
In the Women’s 100km, it was another AUTRA podium top spot for the Surf Coast Century and the Championships with Holly Ranson from Renmark, SA taking the win with a brilliant time of 9:03:00. Congratulations Holly on your run, an incredible day ‘at the office’! Second Female went to Nicole Paton (10:06:00), whilst 3rd Female went to AUTRA’s very own Clare Palmer from Glenreagh, NSW who crossed the finish line in 10:20:04 – well done Clare!
There were 394 finishers in the Surf Coast Century. Congratulations to all our AUTRA members who raced, including those who finished in the top 100: Nick Muxlow (9:18:56 and 4th Male), Colin Moulden (10:02:44), Alan Wheat (11:39:54) and Amelia Griffith (11:59:24).
In the Men’s 50km, top spot was awarded to AUTRA’s very own Matthew Whitaker from Richmond, Vic who claimed the 1st Male win with a finish of 3:28:16. Congratulations Matthew! Second and 3rd Male positions were won respectively by Joshua Lynott (3:48:29) and Owen Williams (3:49:17).
In the Women’s 50km, AUTRA member Miah Noble took 1st Female following her amazing time of 3:53:35. It is worth noting that Miah is just 19 years old, almost 20, and what an inspiring runner she is for our younger athletes in the ultra world – congratulations Miah! Second Female went to Kate Crombie (4:41:48) whilst AUTRA’s very own Shannessy Adams from Torquay, Vic claimed 3rd Female with a finish of 4:42:35 – well done!
There were 382 finishers in the 50m. Congratulations to all our members who raced in the event, including those who finished in the top 100: Kerri Clayton (4:49:17) and Tracy Feiner (5:19:23).

The Great North Walk Trail Running Festival was held on Sunday, 22 September along the Central Coast in NSW, offering a 50km (97 finishers), 30km and 10km distance for runners of every ability.
Kicking things off with the ultra distance, in the Men’s 50km, top spots went to Jason Stafford (5:17:26), James Hudson (5:29:40) and AUTRA member Ramiro Lopez-Pena from North Avoca, NSW who claimed 3rd Male following a spectacular finish of 5:29:47, hot on the heels of Hudson with only a 7-second difference. Brilliant effort Ramiro!
In the Women’s 50km, podium positions were awarded to Maddi Fleetwood (5:56:13), Krisztina Balasz (6:46:46) and Morgan Sullivan (6:51:32).
Congratulations to all our AUTRA members who ran in the 50km distance at GNW this year, including Damian Smith (5:51:52), David Campbell (7:09:55), Geoffrey Barnes (7:32:53), Greg Thomson (7:41:07), Bernhard Freisler (8:29:50) and Taras Mencinsky (8:47:29).
Top spots in the Men’s 30km were awarded to Nic Hoskin (2:24:44), Darryl Johnson (2:39:39) and Alex Dircks (2:43:30). In the Women’s 30km, 1st Female was awarded to AUTRA’s Courtney Luken who finished the distance in 2:48:31. Second and 3rd Female went to Alexandra Knights (2:57:14) and Gabrielle Bryant (3:09:16).
Top spots in the Men’s 10km were Jyle Smith (44:50), Tristan Byrne (44:50) and Ben Black (49:14); in the Women’s 10km, winners were named Emmalie Hunt (53:04), Hannah Veen (54:08) and Rosie Davies (54:35).

The Duval Dam Buster Trail Run (DDB) is held in the heart of the NSW New England High Country and starts at 1,000m above sea level. On offer are a 50km, 32km and 16km event.
In the Men’s 50km, AUTRA member Luke Ferry from Menangle, NSW took the top spot, crossing the finish line in 5:27:11 – congratulations Luke! Second and 3rd Male were won by Damian Riches (5:32:24) and Michael Bray (5:35:31).
In the Women’s 50km, 1st Female went to Aanika Bray (5:35:31) whilst 2nd Female went to AUTRA’s Mindy Durdin from Springsure, Qld who finished in 5:38:30 – well done, Mindy! Third Female went to Naomi Mitchell (5:54:02).
Congratulations to all our AUTRA members who raced in the 50km, including Pete Sinfield (7:14:53).
In the Men’s 32km, the winners were Daniel Stein (2:22:52), Trent Irwin (2:23:33) and Mal Donnelly (2:37:48). In the Women’s 32km, top spots were awarded to Annabelle Swainston (3:19:44), Megan Harris (3:27:50) and Leanne Collingwood (3:45:35).
in the Men’s 16km, winners were Mack Oxley (1:08:55), Nik Adamson (1:18:12) and Douglas Leabon (1:19:55); in the Women’s 16km, podium finishes went to Natalie Bower (1:58:04), Rebecca Balmer (1:58:29) and Jessica Dorrian (1:59:21).
Winners in the Men’s 8km were Timmothy Turner (34:43), Phil Hess (36:29) and Ian Berney (37:12), whilst in the Women’s 8km they were Mary Arandale (40:30), Julinka Brecht (44:01) and Jo-Ann Bullen (44:45).

The Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run was held on Sunday, 22 September with runners going from Griffith University through the Toohey Forest. On offer was a 5km, 10km and 21.1km.
Winners for the Men’s 21km were Grant Williams (1:19:06), Marty Carne (1:20:20) and Callum Corbett (1:28:07), whilst winners for the Women’s 21km were Lauren Hume (1:28:54), Romy Wolstencroft (1:39:05) and Kiarne Pham (1:42:14).
In the Men’s 10km, top spots went to Avi Singh (39:58), Andrew Kennedy (40:16) and Brian Pack (40:53); in the Women’s 10km, podium finishes went to Amelia Spring (45:53), Tarina Lake (47:50) and Miranda Mahoney (48:32).
Onto the Men’s 5km, and the winners were named Kotari Nihei (18:42), Vincent Churches (18:44) and Ethan Pham (18:47), whilst in the Women’s 5km, those who claimed top spots were Katrina Hingst (23:03), Lilly-Rose Waara (23:14) and Lola Kellen (23:54).
