The Cradle Mountain run is a one day traverse of Tasmanian’s famous Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair Overland Track. The altitude of the track in several areas of the plateau is greater than 1,000 metres, which by world standards is not high, but here is well above the tree line. This low tree line illustrates the exposure and harshness of conditions that can prevail even in summer. The Run is approximately 78 kms and runners take between 8 hours and 15.5 hours to complete this distance. However the vast majority of runners take between 12 and 13 hours finishing at Cynthia Bay between 6:00pm and 7:00pm
